For the dancer that wants a more extensive, serious program, we offer our Competition Dance Company, "The Experience". Auditions are held annually, and the dancer's are placed in the appropriate level by the Artistic Directors of The Dance Experience. The Dance Experience Competition Dance Company competes in both Regional and National Competitions yearly.

Instructors:
The Experience Dance Company is taught by the most experienced dance instructors in the area! From tap, ballet, jazz, hip hop, and lyrical, they know it all!
Brandy Miller - from New Orleans, LA where she was a member of The Dance Factory's Award Winning Dance Company with Britney Spears . She graduated from the University of Nebraska- Lincoln in 2000 with a Bachelor Degree in Fine and Performing Arts with emphasis in Dance. Brandy has been a national dance competitor for 15 years and has won numerous awards and scholarships. She has studied in New York City and Los Angeles, CA at renowned studios Broadway Dance Center, Steps On Broadway, and The Edge with professional faculty Frank Hatchett, Debbie Dee, Doug Caldwell, Greg Russell and Elisa Monte. Brandy has also had the opportunity to perform at the Olympic Track & Field Trials In New Orleans, La. with Olympians such as Carl Lewis and "Flo Jo." She has been a featured dancer in UNL's Dance Department Fall and Spring Recitals, and played the role of "Snow Queen" in the Nutcracker for the Hammond Cultural Foundation in Louisiana.

As a teacher, Brandy has choreographed numerous award winning numbers. Her work has been awarded for "Outstanding Choreography" at such competitions as Premiere 2000, Dance Champs and SCDM Performing Arts Competition. She is the recipient of 4 consecutive ('01 - '04) "High Score Tap" Awards as well as the '02 and '04 "Top Choreography" award at SCDM. Brandy is also the proud teacher of Dance Machine's '04 Petite, Teen & Miss Dance, SCDM's '03 & '04 Miss and '03 Petite Miss Dance of S.C., '03 I Love Dance Sweetheart, "03 Dance Champs" Jr. Miss Dance Of M.B. and 2005 Miss Marion County to name a few!!

Sarah Schmid - from Lincoln, NE, Sarah graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1999 with a Bachelor Degree in Fine and Performing Arts with an emphasis in Dance. She is a proud member of Southern Council of Dance Masters and Dance Masters of America, Inc. Sara performed in numerous productions at the University of Nebraska and the surrounding area. She taught in Nebraska for three years in a studio setting, summer dance clinics, and Performing Arts Camps. While attending The University of Nebraska, Sara's modern choreography was chosen to represent The University at the American College Dance Festival in Wyoming. Sara also choreographed for The Star City Dinner Theater and Cheer/Dance Teams in Nebraska.

Sara has been teaching in the Myrtle Beach area for the past five years. She has taught Hip-hop at the Southern Council Dance Masters of America Conventions, and has been a guest teacher at the Academy of Arts and Science. As a teacher, Sara's choreography has won many awards including high score for Lyrical and Modern. She is also the proud choreographer for 2004 Teen Miss Dance of South Carolina.

Dance Classes:

Pricing: Annual Registration Fee is $30.00 per student. All 50 minute classes are $50 per month (1x weekly) or $87.50 per month (2x weekly). Dance Experience Company Prices Vary.

Ballet (3yrs-Advanced): A classical dance form characterized by grace and precision of movement And by elaborate formal gestures, steps, and poses.

Modern (9yrs-Advanced): A style of dance that is not as restricted as classical ballet. Modern uses such techniques as fall and recovery, contract and release.

Tap (3yrs-Adult): A dance style tapped out audibly with the feet.

Lyrical (9yrs-Advanced):
A ballet and jazz based interpretive dance in which the song's story is told through movement.

Jazz (7yrs-Adult): A dance style that is looser than ballet, and involves isolation of body parts.
Movements are often big and exaggerated.

Hip hop (7yrs-Adult): Street style dance usually seen in music videos.

Creative Movement (2-3yrs): This class is developed to introduce young children to the dance basics of: posture, rhythm, music, flexibility, levels, body parts, tempo, balance, coordination and local motor
skills. Basic Ballet movement will be taught, but strict technique is not stressed at this age.

Stretch and Flexibility (all ages): This class is designed to help increase your dancer's strength and flexibility.
